🌱Simple Pea Hummus🌱

This simple pea hummus is something what I always have in my fridge! It is healthy, full of plant based protein and totally upgrades the meals! 😋
I have naturally reduced my animal based protein and to be honest, I feel like my body craves more fresh plant based protein. As an athlete I feel that I’ve recovered just as well as I have befofe. A little better actually!


🌱 Ingredients 🌱

Peas (I used frozen ones)

Fresh Basil

Garlic and a hint of salt


TO MODIFY this to a more protein, add soy beans. Soy beans makes the puree a bit more creamy. For making the puree a bit thinner I have used some yogurt or just simply added water on it. For balancing the sweetness you can grate a bit of the skin of lemon (but dont grade the white part of the skin…. only the very first layer! The white part doesn’t have a good flavour). If you add lemon juice, the juice “cooks” the peas and therefore makes the peas turn brown. 💩

The puree also works as a base for soup too. That is also why i always have this in my fridge in case I have to make a quick but a warm meal. Try on a crispy seed cracker with a smoked salmon! YUM!
